Getting married is such an exciting life event and it’s a honor to walk alongside couples during this blissful time.
I use the SYMBIS (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts) assessment and cover the following areas with couples:
Personalities - identify strengths you both bring to marriage
Communication / Conflict resolution - discover your “hot button” topics, fight types, and how to deal with them
Trauma history & Family of origin dynamics - learn how your trauma and family dynamics influence how you see the world and marriage
Sex and intimacy [yep, they are different!] - explore what sex means to each to you and become comfortable with communication around it
Finances / Financial goals - kick financial worries to the curb and deepen your connection with one another through open dialogue of hopes and dreams
Marital expectations/Relationship roles - learn about each other’s vision for marriage and your ideals for how things will play out
Children and parenting expectations - become comfortable with expressing desires around having children or if you already have children, parenting values.
Spiritual beliefs / Relationship values - create shared meaning through deepening knowledge of each other’s core values
In addition, I utilize my training in the Gottman Method from a trauma-informed lens to take the assessment results a step further with equipping couples with tangible tools for communication, conflict resolution, building and sustaining friendship, and how to maintain the work while creating shared meaning and dreams together.
Pay per session options: $175 per 50-minute session to allow for as much time as you need to cover all the bases before you enter into marriage. SYMBIS assessment and workbook are additional costs.
